Federica Belletti is a film producer and director, who serves as Creative Executive at Film Manufacturers Inc. (THE LAST SPY, JOYLAND, THE PRICE OF EVERYTHING, MAPPLERTHORPE: LOOK AT THE PICTURES, ABSOLUTE WILSON), a production company founded by Emmy-Award nominee Katharina Otto-Bernstein with offices in the US and Germany.
She started out in development in 2017 at Gamechanger Films, Maven Pictures, and was later an assistant to the producers at CounterNarrative Films, where she worked with Academy Award nominee JC Chandor, Anna Gerb and Neal Dodson on Netflix’s TRIPLE FRONTIER. In production, Federica worked with Deborah Kampmeier on TAPE, with Adam Leon on ITALIAN STUDIES, and with Kirsten Johnson on the critically acclaimed documentary DICK JOHNSON IS DEAD.
Federica has produced a dozen award-winning shorts that have played worldwide, including REFUGE, distributed by The New Yorker, NICE TALKING TO YOU, a SXSW premiere, and AYAAN, which premiered at the Sydney Film Festival and was long-listed for an Academy Award® in 2023. Most recently, she co-Produced the feature documentary THE LAST SPY, about the CIA spymaster Peter Sichel and American foreign policy; she produced KEEP IT OPEN (InsideOut Toronto Film Festival, Mill Valley Film Festival), a short film that explores queer relationships; and she was a consultant on the short PINK FLAGS, a sport-thriller about stalking and female emancipation.
In 2024 she wrote and directed the short ARIA, a story of female redemption set in New York, which won the BAFTA-Yugo Production Grant and stars Pauline Chalamet.
Additionally, Federica contributes to “Cinema Made In Italy”, sponsored by Cinecitta’ and Deutchman Inc., and consults for festivals and initiatives aiming to launch new filmmakers. She is an alumna of the Tribeca Film Institute and BAFTA North America, for whom she interviewed Italian film icon Sophia Loren.
A Cum Laude Graduate of IULM University in Milan (2013), Federica also holds an MFA in Creative Producing from the School Of the Arts at Columbia University (2018), where she received the Arthur Krim Memorial Award for Excellence in Producing.
A proud Taurus, Federica is originally from Monte Urano, a small town in Le Marche region on the Adriatic coast of Italy, and now lives with her partner and cat in Brooklyn.
